Eastern Iowa Health Center (EIHC) is seeking an OB/GYN Hospitalist to join our team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluates patients in triage on Labor & Delivery or emergency department, admitting patients as needed.
- Manages, and delivers obstetrical patients including, VBAC, C-sections, and other surgeries.
- Rounds on hospitalized, antepartum, and post-operative patients.
- Provides inpatient, emergency department consultations and APP oversight/consults.
- Covers all Emergency Room call coverage for EIHC OB/GYN.
- Covers OB/GYN patient triage, care management and transfer when appropriate at the hospital’s Emergency Department.
- Provide call coverage and L&D support: interpretation of EFM strips, stand-by for deliveries, perform amniotomies & sonograms, IUPC/FSE placement and indicated procedures.
- Function as a member and leader of the OB Rapid Response Team.
- Enforce quality metrics and evidence-based medicine.
- Utilizes complex strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health and prevent illness and injury.
- Uses strategies based on assessment of risks, learning theory, epidemiological principles and client’s health beliefs and practices.
